Chris Chapman

Chris Chapman PhD is a Principal UX Researcher at Amazon Lab126. Chris is the President of the Quantitative User Experience Association and Co-chair of the Quant UX Conference. He is the former President of the American Marketing Association Insights Council, and frequently speaks on research best practices at industry and university events. Before joining Amazon, Chris led various product research teams at Google (2012-2022) and Microsoft (2000-2011). 


In the choice modeling community, Chris has twice chaired the American Marketing Association’s Advanced Research Techniques Forum, was twice awarded “Best Presentation” at the Sawtooth Software Conference, and served for 10 years on that conference’s organizing committee. He is the author of popular analytics books that discuss choice modeling, including Chapman & Rodden, Quantitative User Experience Research (2023, Apress), and Chapman & Feit, R for Marketing Research and Analytics (2nd ed, 2019, Springer). The latter book has been adopted as a textbook in more than 140 universities in 29 countries, and has been translated into Chinese and Japanese.
